Help me identify an old bike.

Hello, came across a no name bike for sale and I'm trying to figure out what it is and if it's worth buying. There are no labels whatsoever, but here's the rub.

The lugs on the fork have hearts on both the top and sides, there is also a heart cut out into the point of the lug on the head tube. I was thinking derosa maybe because of the heart. Any ideas.

The only thing is that it's a touring bike built up with japanese parts, shimano 600, suzie, mavic, etc.

Hearts have been used by several manufacturers. I would not bet on DeRosa. A picture is really needed along with perhaps info on threading to help narrow things down.

My Harry Quinn has 3 hearts total, so you really need to post pictures for the best guesstimating. Lugs will give more info. Threading on forks and BB help too. If you can read the inscriptions on the BB cups and headset, do that.

BB width will also help narrow it down, if it's italian I'd
be more inclined to believe DeRosa.

okay, so here's the deal, it's a CL bike I was looking at, here's the link:

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/bik/204197554.html Okay, so now that I've given that up, I get first right of refusal if it's good. Thanks all.

I think you will find that MOST people here would not snag it out from under you. That said...I am picking it up tomorrow (kidding)

I looked through the list of lug symbols that was compiled a while back and only DeRosa showed up using a heart, so it appears I was wrong in saying several manufacturers used them. The only pic I could find showing the fork crown had the heart turned 90 degrees CCW. Could be....

yah, I thought DeRosa heart was always point towards the outside.
Nicely thinned lugs, nice shoreline, whatever it is it appears well made.
