I got a frame froman old PH12, and it certainly is unusual for it's time - ovel tubes fading into round - very pretty, but hat are they like to ride. I sa a post which mentioed flex. I'm tempted tobuild it up, but a full restore, repaint and all - I don't knoe. Anone got any firsthand experince of the full bike?

I rode one back in the eighties for over 40K miles. Yes, there is some noticeable flex, but it reaches a point early and predictably where it stiffens up nicely. It is a comfortable ride and very forgiving on rough chip and seal roads. I just received one yesterday, bought on it EBAY, it's in very good to fine shape, and I'll be restoring it this week. Has all the decals and original paint, original Simplex deurailler and shifters, Mavic rims and aero bottle cage. Needs a good cleaning and clear coat, I'll change out the toe clips for egg beaters, but it's ready to go after cleaning and greasing. It was the absolutely coolest bike on campus. I'd come out of class and there'd always be two or three people looking it over. They'd say, "MAN! That thing looks fast STANDING STILL!!". The cables are threaded through the tubes and the tubes are aerodynamically shaped (oval, like a wing). It was maybe a little gimicky 'cuz I wasn't a racer that could use the aerodynamic edge that it offered, but man o man, she is BEAUTIFUL!! I'm taking it on a century ride in October, I fully expect it to be a very big hit.

I deleted all emails once I got the product and it's not showing up on My Ebay. It's the one that you talked about in a post showing the difference between the price of two PH12's. One was new in box, well written and presented, the other was minimally promoted. I bought the latter. Hope that helps.

Not a great deal, I got what I considered to be a fair deal at the time, $200. I didn't want to mess around 'cuz these bikes are not often available, and when they are they usually aren't in very good condition. After I received the bike and saw what condition it's in, that's when I realized that I made a good deal IMO. I opened the BB and it had the original grease, the tires had little stubbies of flashing and the chain has zero stretch. I assume some one rode it a little and it's been in storage ever since. A ding here and there, but nothing big.
I rode it yesterday for 20 miles and she feels great. I felt like a kid again, like I was riding all over Ft. Lauderdale. I'd like to thank you MJ for bringing this bike to my attention. I've already named her, Claire, and she's my favorite.

Thats the impression I had when looking at close up pics. I'm glad it worked out for you.
