I went out to a bike shop in Maryland last night to test ride a couple of bikes. I ended up deciding on a Canadian made Marinoni. I'll probably be bringing it home within a couple of weeks. I can't wait to ride it around.

Thats the only pic I have for now. I will be sure to polish it up and take her for a ride and take pretty pictures like its my child. The lugs are soooo awesome. I can't wait to get it in my hands. Its quite the contrast from my everyday bike...
That photo was taken just after the MS150. It has since been cleaned up(rainy start day 1) and the bars have been retaped(bumped by my teammate at the finish day 1=ouch)
.
The Marinoni has such awesome geometry. And its so light and responsive. It will be treated well.
Ughhh... I gotta get back to work, I'm day dreamin.

it is currently not in my possesion. i bought it from larry at college park bikes in college park, md. he is currently replacing the tubulars for me and trying to track down some... track pedals that would fit the vintage of the bike. hopefully he will give me some of his leather track shoes too.
i will be at trexlertown tomorrow, sans bike. i will be trying to look for something that fits my girlfriend, but i will also possibly be trying to sell a 59cm italian lemond. i'll see if i can track down the owner and get some photos up here for you guys.
so if you are at t town and see a kid with a bad attempt at a funny moustache with a huge yellow and black lemond frame, come say hi.

oh, and we put my bike as left side drive as a sort of experiment. i used to fool around on my friends bmx bikes and i would grind right side, so i always thought left side drive bikes were cool. i was cleaning my bike with a friend and regreasing it when i said, hey, theres an alloy cup on the left, lets flip this drive side over.
it was fun.

well...
technically i'm constantly putting force to spin off my cog and pedals. i guess some could see that as a reason to not do that.
but loctite is your friend. plus we got to play pedal doctor and put the left pedal on the right spindle so it could be used on the left side, and the right pedal on the left spindle so it could be used on the left side. its awesome having pedals that are shaped to hold a clip/strap combo one way.

And the pedal spindle/cage swap is just AWESOME!!
(and I thought you had scanned a 35mm slide backwards, but the number in the rear wheel threw me.
Thx for the explanation.)

Okay, you mentioned doing this with the bmx bikes. I can see it with a fixie, and I've thought about doing a dual drive train fixie (one on both sides) just for kicks...but how did you do the bmx bike? Wouldn't the reverse side only allow you to pedal backwards? Or did you find some reverse ratcheting bmx freewheel?, and still how would that stay on, there's no lockring for bmx hubs, so it would come off every time you cranked on the pedals, wouldn't it? Perhaps you also found/made a reverse threading hub, and freewheel.
let me know i'm curious.

yes, BMX bikes make specific drive train parts for left side drive.

pictures to come when i get back to dc.

I am very surprised your pedals don't come loose as you ride; the LocTite must be saving your arse.
One of my friends built a crossover tandem set of Sugino cranks from three regular sets, which required putting two right (drive) cranks on the left side and one left crank on the right. When three of the bike's four pedals kept coming loose, he finally retapped the cranks to the ubiquitous left thread / left side convention.

i rode it around for about a week pre loc-tite and had no problem. i just did the loc-tit to be on the safe side. i was starting to feel really comfortable without it, saying as i like to race the cars to work in the morning. i rode it really hard, but had no problems. i guess the loc-tite was just to ease my mind a little, but especially the mind of a friend who would have felt bad if something happened to me.
