What is this Masi worth?

The white one in the middle of the three is the one that may be for sale. This is an all original Carlsbad Masi Pista w/chrome fork and Martano pista rims. The picture is all I have... sorry about that. Hope there is someone that knows about this brand and type of bike. Thanks for any help. Yes, I am looking for an older track bike if you know of one for sale or know a place to look. Size 58-60ish.

I think a Carlsbad Masi Pista in described condition would easily fetch over $2000. And that may be a conservative estimate knowing how some lust after the Carlsbad Masis, much less a pista Carlsbad Masi.

Did you notice the other two bikes in the picture? Another Masi and a chrome Paramount. Looks like someone's retirement fund.

Most of the bikes in the pictures are sold. The Masi is still sitting there. The price is up there close to $3K USD. I don't know enough about these bikes really. I do want to ride it, so I may not want something worth so much $ like the Masi. Wish I knew more about this bike. I assume it wasn't built by Mario Confente.

I would not assume that. I would definitely find out for sure one way or another.

Is there a site that helps price bikes like these? I even looked at completed listings on ebay and really haven't found track bikes like these that sold. It is really hard to figure out a price of this Masi or the Colnago that I posted on the other inquiry. I am not a rich man, just one that saves and buys a interesting bike. My Road bike is an old 80's Roberts w/campy. Great bike and ridden.

A true carlsbad masi, first series? second? there is a possibility it was
built by Mario. The way to find out for sure is get the serial number
and ask over at CR list. A few of the Masioso over there are sure to know
(brian bayliss, Jim allen, and a few others worked at carlsbad), and it'll set
off about a weeks worth of posts about masi, always an interesting thing
(and I'm tired of reading bout Simpson on a Moulton).

Is this MASI and the Colnago Pista in the other thread from the same owner? They are very nice but I'm pretty sure that they have all been restored. Not a bad thing at all, but they are not worth as much as a NOS or original low miles bike. Who ever owns those bikes knows exactly what there worth, you don't have that many pristine bikes without being a collector, why don't you ask them waht they want for them and then run that price by us.

I am curious if you plan on riding these bikes or they are for a collection. If you are going to ride them with any frequency then you are throwing 40%-50% away by getting pristine bikes. If you are going to collect them and get them for current market value then you will have something fantastic to drool over and you will probably keep up with inflation, maybe.

The prices are over $2500 each. They are not restored, at least the Masi isn't.

CR list is Classic Rendezvous. Normally a very verbose discussion group just chock full of pre-84 bicycle knowledge and help. Check into classicrendezvous.org for further information. Well worth your time, if you can take the amount of correspondence.

Occasionally it turns into a hotbed of insufferable Masi snobs, to the point that I'd love to take every Masi in the world and transform it into a Murray. Owning a Masi is just not owning a bicycle - it's also developing pretention. Not unlike being 45, balding and a Ferrari owner.

Hey, I like Masi's. I have over a half dozen. The key to this white Pista is the serial number... close ups of the rear ends and fork, tips and crown will tell much. Bring the information and we will talk...

I would place a Confente Masi in the 5K+ range. Confente Confentes bring more, latest one over 7K. but there are fewer Masi built Confentes.

I am concerned about the down tube decals though...

You can browse/search Classic Rendezvous as well as other bikelist.org lists (iBob is my favorite) at https://search.bikelist.org.

unless you are looking to buy offerings from the list (which most often
require real time mail delivery), I'd suggest the digest form of the list
(collects x number of emails, bundles them and sends out 1 email not 20 ).
if the topic is hot ( watch the confente built masi posts) you can easily receive
a hundred emails per day.
