Can anyone tell me anything about this bike:

Owner says:

"The components are Sun Tour, the rear derailer is V-GT Lux"

Model is usually indicated on the top tube. Just guessing, but I would say it is a Grand Touring. Nice bike, but not $125 nice in my book.

I don't think $125 is a bad price, but $125 plus shipping from Pasadena, CA to Swat Bubble, PA is probably too much.

I guess in LALA-land it is good price. My view is skewed by my purchasing a GT in 1972 for $150. But it isn't 1972 is it?

I only go to school in PA, I'll be back in LA this weekend. With this in mind, would it be worth it? Should I try to lower the price? What is a reasonable starting price?

I'd try to get the price down or keep looking.

The value of a bike is determined by the buyer. SO is it worth it to you? I doubt that it cost more than 150-175 new, so you make the choice. If you are buying as an investment, then you assume the risk inherent in an investment. As the financial advisers say what is your risk tolerance? From my point of view, the prices paid for 70's bike are obscene. The lower end bikes of the day were not all that great, but are practically idolised today. Just show I ain't too bright!

$125 for any decent road bike in "ready to ride condition" is reasonable, especially in an active bike market like L.A., SF, etc. $125 for a bike that needs work is not reasonable, unless it is special/rare.

If it fits you, you like it, and it is ready to ride...... offer $100.

Going from the small pics, the bike looks like it needs to be pulled apart and cleaned, at the very least.
