Peugeot ID by serial number- is this possible?

The Godfather of the local Velo Mafia called me today and told me he had a Peugeot frame and fork with headset for sale. He's not sure of the model, but gave me the serial number.

Before I pedal the 30km to go see it I'd like to know if it's possible to ID from the SN. Here it is: Y81059862.

I know it's a long shot, and thanks for the help!

In this forum, we have had enough trouble just sorting out model year as a function of serial number. I don't know of any relationship between Peugeot serial numbers and model types. Your best clue, assuming the original paint and decals are intact, will be the frame's pedigree stickers (Reynolds 531 3 tubes renforces, Vitus, etc.) on the seat tube and/or downtube.
