My 89 year old father just sold his house. Today i went to get some of my things including my Fuji S-10-S that i bought in 9th grade around '72-3. it has been in his basement since i left home in 1983. Is this bike worth anything? should i have it overhauled? should i junk it? what do i do with it?
It's worth something to somebody. Unless you're the same height you were in 9th grade, it's probably too small for you. I'd probably clean it up and sell it on Craig's List. If I was interested in riding, I'd watch Craig's list for a Fuji in my size. FWIW, I bought 3 Fuji's in the last year off of CL for between $40 (crash damaged) and $75 (ready to go but sold by a guy who was in a far-flung suburb) and have seen them for as much as $150. It all depends on condition, your location, and where it was in the line-up.
' 96 Trek 830 Mountain Track,'74 Schwinn Suburban, '74-ish Fuji Dynamic 10, '73 Schwinn Varsity,'73 Schwinn Breeze, '94 Schwinn Sidewinder. First Schwinn was a '74 Schwinn 24 inch Varsity in Lime Green, and previously owned a '74 Schwinn Breeze
I have a '74-ish Fuji Dynamic 10, which is in about the same ballpark as the bike that you're talking about. I say keep it, and have it overhauled or at least, tuned up, and ride like the wind! ;-D Seriously, I ride mine frequently, and it's just a fun, easy riding, relatively light weight (compared to my old Schwinns) bike. Keep it, and enjoy it! It would be especially fun for you, since you are the original owner, so you know the bike's history, and I'm sure it has quite a few memories for you! Happy Riding!
