Thanks, Bob. The big rivet Brooks saddle is new. The original that came with the P15 was looking really scruffy, so I bought the new one with the huge rivets. Then I decided to try and resurrect the original, so I dyed it and then rubbed it with Brooks Proofide. After the resurrection it looked brand new, so I put it on the '87 Paramount that had a cheap plastic saddle when I bought it.

Oh you dare devil! I see now that Stan lives dangerously as well, reaching behind for a drink! Oh my! Maybe it's my spiritual nature to keep my hands close together as I careen down these NH hills at 40+ mph. Ha!

Hey, aren't those side wings near the top of the holders clamp arms? That's how they keep the bottles from bouncing out and removing your front teeth.

I thought the Big Rivets Professional looked like a new addition. Sounds more like a "makeover" then a resurrection on the old one! I'm certain it makes for a better ride on the '87.

I have a B-72 on the way that looks as if it might be Lazarus Brooks. Even has a popped rivet but it doesn't look torn. I only paid $15 with shipping so I won't be out too much if it is trash. I was thinking that I might try the big rivets in it when I repair it. That would make it unique. I'll use it on the '50s Hercules.

There's an elastic band that goes around each cage to keep the water bottles secure. It works!

Stan, do you think those four cool SS/Fixie dudes will let you ride with your 15 speed P-15? That is a great picture of the four Paramounts bunched up together.

scooper - for sure. drop me a pm with your email and ill let you know when we have another get together, they happen very often, as we are all good friends, and we ride toghet often. I mostly ride with fixed gear people but theres a good healthy group of vintage track bike freaks here that are always good times (and most of us own both fixed and road anyway). always nice to meet another fanatic, geared or fixed be damned, bikes are bikes! (and how bad was that chronicle article today....)

I'd rather reach out front then from behind the saddle, but I've yet to be bombing down a hill at 40mph - in which case...forgettabout that drink!

ACE Hardware has those big copper rivets. They're steel rivets are reasonable, but are bare steel - hence, they dull easily, and don't polish back up.

Aha, didn't notice until now. Looks like something I might be able to easily put together if I had a tack welder handy, in fact. Wonder if anyone here on the forum would be interested.

I guess I'll put this here since it is a Paramount thread. I apologize in advance if someone has noted this bike in a previous post, but just in case you missed it…

I dunno, Bob; it seems like a pretty tight fraternity. I didn't think it would hurt to ask.

I agree; the picture of the Paramounts bunched together is very cool.

the chrome paramount owner has a great pinarello, the silver one owns a nice casati, and the black one with the curvy tube has a sweet ron cooper, all three nice campy'd out road bikes. myself and the copper paramount owner are the only two who ride fixed exclusive and we are both on the hunt fixed/road segregation is bs, we are past that, everyone loves a nice bike.

The nerve someone has to put that saddle and cork tape (in light blue, no less) on a bike like that!

[QUOTE=cudak888]...here are some brand-new photos, taken this afternoon, of my '61.

Beautiful, The original patina serves your Paramount well. I particularly like the Bluemels. I too am searching for the bottle solution for my 75. Original owner had a clamp on, yecch. Distilled choice down to stuffing a bottle in my jersey (very old school) or hbar mount. Let me know what you find?

+1 on the effectiveness of the Profile Design bottle cages to hold bottles securely, I've used the cages on mountain bikes, and they're actually some of the most secure that I've found. The ones I've used are the individual Profile Design cages that attach to conventional water bottle bosses, but they work the same way, with the elastic bands to help secure the bottles. I agree, though, they're not exactly a vintage look if that's what you're looking for. At one time, I actually ordered one of the Aqua Racks like Stan has, but when I got it in I found that they only fit 27.2mm seatposts, or something very close to it. On the bike I was hoping to use it on, the post size was much too big, I had to send the Aqua Rack back. So a word of caution to anyone thinking of getting an Aqua Rack: if you don't have a 27.2mm post, it likely won't fit-

Lovely, as usual. Love the Brooks and white fenders, although the original shot of the cranks frightens me.
