    cruisers anyone..........

I'v been looking at your bike's, and couldn't help but notice that very few of you have have cruisers, or post any pic's of them. You know, those bike with the wide handle bars, and no not those undersized kids banana seat bikes either, Im talking about full size (26in. tire) cruisers!!!!! Get my drift!!!!!

Most vintage enthusiasts prefer to ride bikes which were good when they were new. Cruisers may have some fashion appeal, but not much else.

    Smelly,

By cruiser, I'm guessing your talking something
like a schwinn Black Phantom, or the Columbia's
that most of us learned on? 26in wheel, coaster
    brake, matress saddle?
I think you should check out
    Old Roads
they have more cruisers than you'll find here.

Hmmmm... no pics... but i ride a Schwinn Panther (the newer, but now discontinued aluminum framed cruiser) around for townie use. Very light, just over 20 pounds, with big fat Ritchie Moby slicks for "suspension" Another bicyclist at a stop light asked me "what's it like only having one gear". I replied, "Simple". I saw a guy complete (i think) 500 miles of RAGBRAI on one of these last year.

Trek et al make aluminum frame "retro" cruisers. Much nicer to lug around than their steely anscestors.

I have a 1959 Schwinn Speedster that is torn apart in my garage and she is in mid re-construction right now. Its is a great bike, but I don't really enjoy riding it except on the waterfront at very slow speeds. Cruisers do however have a sexy look to it that hard to beat! (Assuming I am not on the bike)
