what year vitus

hey folks,
Been a fan of this sight for a while and enjoy reading it often
I recently bought an 80's vitus with shimano 600 and dura ace
components. I'm enjoying this restoration far more than I thought I would.
I'm a short rider, so finding a 46cm vitus 979 frame and 165 dura ace cranks was
like finding the needle in the haystack.
I've been searching the net for dating this bike and haven't figured it out yet.
The serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket is
E104084

Any help and feedback would be most appreciated...

Thanks

I haven't found a website that has serial number info, here are a few that may help, though:
(the Vitus company website is only in French, my limited French didn't see any links on it to old stuff.)

https://mypage.uniserve.ca/~peterguy/ - they repair Vitus frames and have parts!

thanks
At least now I know it's not as easy as I thought it was.
I live a few blocks from Marty and the Bicycle Business. I've brought in a few of my bikes
but never this one.. he is a pretty cool shop owner.
tryin to keep it as period correct as possible, only thing compromised is the
dura ace old school spd pedals (which I love) and the avatar saddle.
I'm looking for a brooks narrow or swift to fix that
got it off CL for $100 from a graduated student who didn't know what it was
pics too follow soon..
