That bike's a beaut.
Ain't easy, I'll tell you that. There are some 20 degree grades entering the park which are reasonable enough for people traffic to come up and down on, but there are some areas where the grade approaches 45 degrees - then drops off a few feet - and returns a shallower grade. Those are impassable...although I did dare going down it once on my Trek Y3 - and survived.

It's an old quarry that has been made into a park - Schenley Park, that is. It's about 20-25 feet below the surrounding area in its deepest spots.

Take care,

-Kurt

That explains it. I'm sure a lot has changed since the early 70s. Nice bike, by the way.

Raleigh 60cm alyeska

Have a fine alyeska that is just slightly short for me. I am 6'2". It is a buertiful frame and in terrific condition with stock araya wheels 40s rear and 36s front. Wheels are perfect width for a 1 1/4 tire and very very strong. Gearing is fine but i am pretty big and tour very light. I would love to find the same exact bike at 62cm as this is a very well built and extremely nice butted frame on these things. I am thinking of a nttto extended stem and a carbon seat post to crank it up a bit. Color is the same as other photo but head tube has pink insert. Sounds weird but looks very nice.

I think you would be better off casting a wider net. Fuji made some nice touring bikes in the 80s, as did many others. You should be able to find something your size that way.
