Who made it?

Nashbar Road Alpha 5000. I always thought Nashbar was a mail order biz. What gives? This bike is really nice. Bright red with yellow lettering. Sugino gp130 cranks, Suntour 5000 derailleurs, Dia Compe side pull brakes and aero levers, Araya rims with Suzue hubs, Nitto stem and drop bars. This frame has "Hellenic" seat stays reminiscent of the GT triple triangle. It is made from Ishiwata 4130 triple butted tubes. Who made this sucker? Just curious for any info or opinions on quality.. Thanks, Kelly D. Tacoma, WA

Nashbar sells "store brand bikes" in addtion to others. One common Nashbar model is the Novarro (Novarra?). Not sure what company makes them tho. They are fairly decent mid-range bikes.

That's actually REI's housebrand, Nashbar seems to favor their actually name, or "Frame" with an accent over the e that I can't make my keyboard do. Different suppliers are involved for different Novarras, as well as for Nashbar/Performance/Supergo as well, and I don't know who they are...except probably Taiwanese.

I don't know who made the bike, but Nashbar's been in business a long time, and at one time sold some nice Nashbar-branded bikes. That sounds like what you've got-

Yup, from memory that's the right color scheme too. I remember for sure 1984 they were offering them.

Hmm.....well ..........Maybe I can narrow the search down with another question. As stated before I believe Nashbar simply branded the bike for themselves. Can anyone remember other Japenese road bikes with the same "hellenic" or "triple triangle" design? Is there possibly another name for this frame design?
Thanks for all the replies! Kelly D. Tacoma WA.
