NOS bar tape - yes or no?
So my next build is going to have some garish green unmachined Deep V rims and disc brakes - hardly a classic/vintage ride. However, it would be nice to have matching bar tape in a similar disgusting green color. So far the only luck I've had tracking down a color match is on ebay. A few sellers have some 90's tape in appropriately gross 90's colors. I'm just worried that the adhesive will be shot or the tape will be brittle and hard to work with.

White tape dyed to the right color. This is a good place, there are others, $3.95 for the dye.

I bought some tape off eBay with adhesive that was no longer sticky, but this worked well. I took a glue stick, the cheap stuff - the kind kids use at school, ran it over just the top of the bars before wrapping, and my bar tape has never moved. I have no idea how easily it will come off, however.

I've gotten a few rolls of the Benotto cello tape from a couple different vendors. Sitting around doesn't seem to have affected it in any way, it's exactly the same as I remember it from the late 80's.
