Schwinn 974 Aluminum Pics
Here is my latest find, a cool looking Schwinn at that ! Any idea if these were made in the US ? I haven't been able to find out much about these other then it was the top of the aluminum series bikes.

Well, I know it's from around 1990, at which time it was available for $425 US, as a frameset. Apparently Schwinn's first aluminum model was the 1988 Ontare. For 19889 they added the 564 which used the same frame as the Ontare and, according to a Bicycling road test, was manufctured in the USA. The 564 frame looks identical to yours, right down to requiring the internally expanding seat post. So, I suspect it may be US in origin.
You could always trying check the serial number against the Schwinn and Parmount/Waterford Precsion charts.
