What 1980's Bianchi do I have?

What 1980's Bianchi is this?
I'm sure some will think this bike is too new for this forum but I bet someone here can help me.
I was just given this Bianchi with Shimano 600 components:
It has a sticker on the frame that says "Formula Two" and "Chromo Molibdeno":
and another that says something about "1986-1987 Colorado Springs":
Anyone?

Lugged Columbus steel frame, quill stem, downtube shifters? That bike belongs here, no problem. I've always been partial to higher end Bianchis and thats a nice one.
My guess is the sticker you mentioned refers to the World Championships held n Coloradop Springs in, I believe, 1986. Safe to say the bike is no older than that and I wouldn't think it could be much more recent than 1991-2 or so. I'll give a not so WA guess of 1988. I see the shifters are indexed, how many speeds?
Bianchi had bikes made in Asia during this time period and with the Shimano components this might be one or maybe not, others may have a definitive answer.

Thanks for the info Walter. To answer your question it has twelve speeds.
I'm pretty happy to have gotten it, a friend was moving to an area with no smooth surfaces and didn't want it anymore, so I agreed to take good care of it. It's my first road bike and I'm very excited.
There's another sticker that says Made in Italy, I'm not sure if that guarantees it wasn't built in Asia. Either way I'm pleased.

I have a 1980s bianchi, and I e-mailed the bianchi usa with the serial number and they were able to tell me the year of production and model.

The easy way to distinguish a Japanese-built Bianchi of that era is to look for English, rather than Italian, threading of the bottom bracket.

I, too, would be interested in a Bianchi Serial number chart. I'll have to try contacting Bianchi when I get it back, it's in the shop until Thursday.
