Mystery Frame Identification #1
Hi all. Looking for help from the group to see if we can narrow down who may have built this track frame?
I purchased this recently, along with a separate mystery frame ( see other thread) from a storage locker re-seller. Any help would be appreciated!

Hmm, don't recognize any "signature" elements in the frame and fork looks like a (good quality 531) replacement but "brake-abled". Plus you got rare Cinelli M-71 pedals! The details on this Track frame look more conventional but could also be the work of "unknown Custom builder" since there's also some file marks on the track ends and a bit of braze blob under the stay tops, not QUITE the top-notch attention to details you'd expect from a "Master", IMHO

What are the chances that it is epoxy holding the fixed cup in...**********.......Probably pretty good since it is rock hard, shines and the cup won’t budge....

Seriously could have gone all day not knowing that. Seriously I am happy for your good luck too! Things only go my way lately when I don’t get hit by a car today, or like yesterday and hopefully tomorrow...
Ley us know how that track rides!

Damn, you got a steal of a deal , BUT also a few minor headaches: I think the steerer threads are mangled, looks like somebody cross-threaded but since the Avocet HS is alloy you might just pound it off with wood blocks and mallet, toss away the remains then see about those fork threads. If the OP used LocTite (maybe Red) on the fixed cup, consider leaving it alone if the bearing surface is good, or apply careful heat, I'd say you might have to use enough heat to soften Red that the paint might get charred, or if it is epoxy maybe acetone will soften that enough to break the bond, and also MIGHT affect the paint... so...think on this awhile!

lug pattern Prugnat 62/d
good mitreing visible on the four tubes which enter the shell
headset appears it may be one of the Avocet (OFMEGA) roller bearing models
the bearing on these resemble little barrels and they stack alternately in opposisite directions
my enxperience of them is that they did not work very well
no guesses as to frame maker, would think it comes from the anglophone world...

Oh yeah, that Avocet HS was a weird-o, no wonder it's stuck on, I think there is something more "involved" than your typical threaded HS with the bottom cup, you might have to punch it off with a drift...hopefully someone who has tackled this job (recently) will offer pointers, It's nothing complicated just a bit of extra effort (and as juvela says, for not very much pay-off)
