Classic?Vintage?

Don't know if it's classic or vintage but I got it for a song. It rides nice and I put about 500 miles on it last year until the original tires started cracking. (Mostly rode the MTB last year).
I've done numerous searches on it but no-one seems to know anything about them except the Company went the way of Enron. I could only find one number stamped on it...#0001.

Guess they only made the one then.

What brand and model is it? Your photo is too small for me to tell.

The Roadace 303 is from the 70's, me thinks. I have an '84 Maruishi catalog and the 303 is not in it.

Maruishi is the oldest bicycle company in Japan. It began importing bikes into the country in 1884, and the rest they say, is history.

Does it have the original Suntour or Shimano components? If so, you can date the bike using the date codes on the derailleurs or crank.

Yes, it has Suntour AR components. Diacomp brakes. I didn't see any codes on the deraillers but probably didn't look very hard either. I'll take another look in the morning.
Thanks for the info.

Ok, so we're probably looking at '81-'82ish if it's got Suntour AR. The date code on the rear and/or front derailleur in this case should be Xx or Yx, where lower case 'x' will be a letter A-L(month).

Photos - go to Photobucket.com, and register for a free account. That will give you all the info you need to upload larger pics. Then, in your album, under each pic, you'll see three boxes. One of them is labelled IMG. Click on that, and data will be automatically copied to your clipboard. Paste that data into a post here, or on more or less any other forum and bingo - the photo will be imbedded.

Littleginseng, I'm not much into mechanics. Where would I find those date codes. Do the parts need to be removed? Stamped on the face of the rear derailleur is a symbol and the number 4532. Other than that there is nothing visible.
