Removing 3-speed rear wheel
Hello everyone,
Would someone please instruct me on removing the rear wheel on my Columbia Sports III with an SA-AW hub? I don't want to mess up the gear adjustment.
Thanks, Bob

Have a look on sheldon's site and others to "see" how to adjust your gears as it is easier with a picture than with words, (it's just a matter of lining the shoulder of the adjuster with the end of the axle with 2nd gear selected.). Failing that just put a bit of tape, as a mark, behind the lock nut on the adjuster before you loosen it, thatway when you put it all back together you won't be a million miles out.

When you remove the rear wheel you lose the adjustment because you disconnect the cable. That's why they made them so easy to re-adjust. Here's the best link I have ever found on those AW's: https://www.karrot.org/ascotto/three_speed/
