Where to get a pedal dustcap?
Not of the highest importance, I realize, but I have these old pedals I got in a box of parts. The only identification I can find on them is "West Germany". The clips are Christophe, but I suspect they were a later addition. One is missing a dustcap, but I went ahead and repacked it anyway. Are these things (dustcaps) universal? Do I look at my LBS's parts bin? Anybody have any experience with these pedals or retrofitting dustcaps?

Dust caps
Hi Tellyho,
If you find a source of pedal dust caps I'd like to know too. I need a dust cap for a 1975 Lyotard pedal.

no the dustcaps aren't universal, the Campy NR and SR pedal was copied by MKS, KKT and others so there are quite a few that use this dustcap and threading...but as yours is made in West Germany I can't even guess as to what it might look like, the only German pedals I've seen are the rubber-block cruiser/kiddy bike style...no removeable caps on those. And unfortunately, the Lyotard does not use the Campy/clone threading, so...keep looking...

ebay sounds good, but I seem to recall getting West German steel pedals for about $11 with shipping.
If you are trying to restore old pedals, a parts bin is a good place to start. If you want to spend
money, at least on steel pedals, just buy new ones.
