Fork discrimination!

Here I am wrecking my brain trying to locate a suitable fork for the Guerciottis here in the States - paging through website after website of worthless Tange unicrown forks...

...while any bloke over in the UK can simply send in an order for one of these:

https://www.swinnertoncycles.co.uk/Fo...saw06ff05.aspx

Needless to say, it also costs roughly $75 USD to ship them over here.

*curses to himself*

If you ask nice, I bet Sammyboy could get one here at a little less than $75.

222mm steer tube length minimum. Measured from edge of steer tube top to the bottom of the crown race with the race removed. Has to be for 700C wheels and recessed brakes.

So it needs to be lugged?
I'll check, but I think it might be for 650s.

Lugged or Cinelli-type sloping crown. Stick a 700C wheel with tire (23C or 25C would do it) in the fork and check the clearance.

Some of the frame building supply websites have nice lugged forks, generally unpainted. Perhaps an inquiry on that forum will yield something usefull.

Kurt, I looked at getting one of those for my build in the UK last year. As far as I can remember, they are Tange forks. Looked quite nice. I thought Tange forks were nice?
Wound up getting a Look fork instead.
If you are dealing with the UK, Cycles Clements in Ledbury (near my home) can order you chromed Simoncini forks. Or one of the UK frame crowd would be happy to oblige.

David, you know, after staring at it for a while, it looks identical to the Cinelli-crown, cro-mo, Pyramid-branded fork I picked up from one of the LBS's for my '85 Raleigh Super Course:

It would be nice if I could simply have the LBS order another two from J&B Importers, but it appears as if this fork was deleted from the J&B catalouge for this year.

Anyone here willing to check their LBS's for me to see if they have this particular fork as old stock on hand?
