Austrian Steyr Cruiser w/ Olympic(?) rings
I just picked up a Steyr cruiser off of Craigslist. I know little about these and haven't found much via searching, at least not about this particular model. It's a cruiser style with the Steyr label (just like the rifles) on the frame. It has a Sturmey-Archer three speed hub with the S-A brand on it. The frame is steel and painted green. I'll post pics shortly.
It gets more interesting. I find no model name, but it has what appears to be the multi-color Olympic rings painted on it. Could this be some sort of tie-in to the Olympics in Austria? It could date from the 1960's by the look of it.
I mainly got it for the curiosity factor and because it came with a huge stainless folding Panier rack that would have cost me $50 alone and will allow me to haul mass quantities of foodstuffs on my Electra.
It's in good condition, but if I rode it seriously I'd want to get some beefier hubs and spokes, as these appear ready to pop and probably will with my bulk on them. The frame looks bulletproof.

Check the S-A hub for a date, that is probably going to be your best bet. It should be something like 69 7 which would translate into July of 1969.

The mystery deepens further. Although the shifter says it's a Sturmey-Archer, the hub itself says "STYRIA GANG" and was made in Austria. Apparently this setup was common on these bikes:
https://lafn.org/~dave/trans/bicycle/styria.html
The SN on the frame is 4147870, with the "0" being very small.
It looks very much like an updated version of an old military bicycle to me.

I had an old Steyr built J.C. Higgins with a Sturmey knockoff hub that they built after Sturmey's patent expired in 1954.

The shifter is from the 80's the cable appears to be a universal replacement and the seat post dates from early 90's? ( I don't recall when those came out) But then again someone could have taken an older bike and updated some components on it.

Olympic-like rings were popular on ca. 1960 Capo bicycles, as well.

I never knew about the rings. I thought they were a trademark.
They're 36, and feel less than strong. I'm worried about the old spokes as well. They have some patina on them, bend like piano wire and don't inspire much confidence. I'm inclined to set them aside and put something stronger on for riding. The frame is really what caught my eye.
If those rims are built anything like the Raleigh rims they are a lot stronger than they look. What is the spoke count?

I'm not sure that it would have had a name but it is an extention of a kind of bike that was known in germany as a waffenrad. Google the word and you will see some very artisticlly put together bikes. Yours looks 60s earily 70s.

I was refering to that green bike. I might not be posting correctly. Still not sure about the difference beteen quick post and the regular.
Nice looking Capo. I had a nishiki that had foil tape olympic rings like that on it as well. It was one of the gas pipe ones though.

I've got 2 older ( 1 of each sex) (79 & 80?) 3 speeds that look very similar, that both happen to be metallic green, although a slightly different shade than yours.
They were both equipped with Shimano 3S hubs.
One has a Schucks Auto Parts badge on it (Kragen/Checker) and is a "Kensington", while the other is a "Marquis". Both have gold pinstriping on the outer edge of the fenders and on the chain guard.
Very similar to this bike-

Our group is small, but we are loyal to the marque, and the company is still in business after 77 years. It looks as though much of your chrome has been sanded and painted black.
