Is that an SR seatpost? You can pull it and find a date below the insertion line. I'm sure some on here can date it from the color and components, though.

What siize? If it's your size then it's my size too.

Keep your eyes open for a 56cm or so touring framed bike, preferably with 700c wheels, but 27" will work too. It doesn't need to be an actual touring model as long as it has a nice cushy ride for a clydesdale's daily rider. Prefer lugged double butted steel, but a Cannondale touring bike or almost anything else will work too as long as it is reasonable quality. (anything better than high ten/carbon steel)

I promise, I'll keep looking for a Peugeot.

Its discusting what you can find here sometimes. I also got a cool old nothing special concord for $.50 that day. The catalog has it measured in inches but its about 54cm. It fits real good. I did spend about 6 hours cleaning all the crud off it, I thought the frame was burgundy until I cleaned it.

In the course of accumulating bikes to flip this past winter, I did a 'bike rescue' on a 1985 or so Ross Gran Tour, 25" my size clydesdale worthy bike.

It's a nice black double butted 4130 frame with 'Tange High Tensile' forks and 45cm chainstays (single eyelets on the rear). Really, a very nice lugged frame. It was sitting forlornly at Goodwill with its mostly lousy equipment group--Sugino black riveted double crankset with stripped crank arm threads, the cheapest quill pedals imaginable, stem shifters but good quality Shimano sidepulls and oddly, good quality eyeletted 19mm alloy 700c rims. And the original Ross seat in exc condition--but its plastic!

I spent hours getting it working, with swapped in derailleurs and crankset, then figured it needed tires and tubes and, well, decided in the end it just wasn't worth the hassle to list and sell.

So, the frame/bottom bracket/fork/headset/alloy stem/chromed bars are available if anyone wants it. Not free, but near enough to. In fact--I'll even throw in the seat/seatpost for a C&V member! PM me.

That's a beauty! I have an old run-down 531 AD Inter-10 that has yet to get it's turn at reconditioning, but I can tell you that the ride of that frame is smooooth.

That's very nice! I think I will have to visit the local thrifts today--I haven't bothered with them for a while.

Yard sales are great. I just picked up a 3 speed rudge 1955 nottingham england with a dyno front wheel. $5. I did a few yard sales last year on old philadelphia pk, had bikes out at every one.
