dating a vintage bike...
So you want to know how to date your [...]
You will find that dating a bike is much easier than dating a real live woman (I would imagine it's also easier than dating a real live man), though potentially no less expensive.
You can take out the bike pretty much whenever you want. Once a week is fine; so is once a day or once a month. I've found bikes to be much more patient in this respect than women. Bikes will also not complain if you regularly take out several different ones. Similarly, they don't get jealous when you eye over every other one that you see on the street or on the internet.
I find that I prefer to go out for a nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon in the country. You might also enjoy taking it out to a restaurant or bar. Once the two of you have established a relationship, you may enjoy a vacation to another state or even country. It doesn't always have to be just the two of you, of course. Going out with a group is also quite fun.
You may find that you want to buy shiny pretty things for your bike. Much like with a woman, this can get expensive, but if you love it and you can afford it, you should. Flowers, candy, and fancy dinners, however, will go unappreciated.
I would also add that my bikes do not seem to care how often I clean my apartment, shave, or wash the dog.
Of course, you should know of that there are drawbacks as well. I've found bikes to be rather poor conversationalists (though worryingly this does not seem to keep me from talking to them) and although I often find them sexy, beautiful, and hot, they do not keep my sexual interest.
[I hope you will all excuse me, but every time I read a thread with a title like "how to date a PX10" I feel compelled to write this. I hope that with this post I'll get it out of my system.
