So what would you have done?

So... I'm riding home from work last week, and I see this:

Kind of needs tires, but it does ride nice. :-)

Free? Why not?

Is that original paint?

You betcha. Like two nicks in it. Decals all good too. It's a 74 1-owner Suburban. I think he put new tires on it a couple years ago, but who knows really. They have sidewall dry rot, but still have the nibs.

Seriously, it's a sweet bike.

(edit: here's a slightly older ladies 10 speed 'burban I'm setting up for our oldest.)

It seems as if that bike went to a good home then :D .

Is the ladies version to be a singlespeed, or is it just not quite finished?

Thanks.
The ladies bike will be a 7 or 14 speed, depending on whether I hook up the front derailleur. The wheels are 700C's with sort of generic alloy rims. It had been a 10 spd, with fairly rough paint. The rattlecan job is OK unless you look really close, but it's doomed to be nicked, I'm afraid. I have the crank & brakes on it now and need to sort out the cables. There's an SRAM 7 speed shifter on the bars, and a 7 speed cassette in back... It ought to be workable if I can get a derailleur and a hanger...

Re: the green: I like it too :-)

Nice. You didn't have a wreck trailing it home, did you? If you need any parts for it, let me know!

I'd totally have taken it, even if only for the mirrors!

Peed my pants. I like green bikes, and that is the GREENEST.
