What exactly do I have here: a few mixed parts
I like to know as much as possible about the components I'm using, and/or trading-selling. When I picked up the Serotta I also picked up a fair number of spare parts that I am having a hard time finding much good information on. Any information on them regarding age, quality, reputation, etc would be appriciated. :)
1) Mavic S.U.P. Open Rim. I can guess it's an older model in the Open line-up, but it is exceedingly narrow. Wonder about it's placement in the line-up and such. http://photos.thecuda.com/upload/ser...n_P3042084.JPG 2) Campagnolo Record Pave Tubular rim. Not a lot of information out there on Campagnolo rims. This is the rim on the Serotta's front rim. Fairly wide rim, a few mm more than the Mavic GL 330 I will be using on the rear wheel. Looks like it's in good shape, but I also have a second GL 330 I could lace up to have a matching pair depending on value of this rim. http://photos.thecuda.com/upload/ser...n_P3042079.JPG 3) Regina Extra 13-21 7sp freewheel. One of a couple of freewheels I have for the Serotta. Since this photo I've cleaned it up a bit and dropped a little extra lube down into the pawls. Runs smooth. http://photos.thecuda.com/upload/ser...n_P3042091.JPG |
All I can you about those photos is from the looks of the ends of that St. Augustine, I think you need to sharpen your mower blade.

You might be able to find information on the Campy rim here:

From the name, I believe the Campy rim would be heavier, wider and stronger than a normal road rim. Designed for riding on the cobbles.

I'll bet that freewheel is worth some $. Look at eBay auctions.

splytz1: thanks for the link, I'll take a look.
USAZorro: that would make sense and seems to be right. It is a pretty heafty rim for a tubular. vpiuva: yeah, looks like a nice light freewheel. I might use one of my silver 7sp freewheels for the time being though as it matches with the red & silver look of the bike. |
Picked up a pair of NOS Campagnolo Omega 19 rims last night, the polished silver, but could probably use a new polish on the aluminum. 32h, were still plastic wrapped. Debating between using them for a wheel build or selling them to finance the building of a rear wheel to go with the Open SUP posted above. Also picked up a pair of campy hubs, unfortunately they are 36h vs the 32 of the Campy rims. (Yes, they've been posted in For Trade already. ;)
