I may regret this, but I'm really stuck and don't especially like being stuck. I've got it in my head that I want to do a restoration / re-build on a vintage lugged steel framed bike. I've been toying with the idea of a Paramount, Colnago, Pinarello, De Rosa, Basso, or the like. I've got plenty of bikes to ride that I like a lot. This is probably just a nostalgia thing, but I really like the look of lugged steel and want to move in that direction. I've only restored or rebuilt Japanese lugged steel bikes from the 80s and 90s and they just aren't what I'm looking for. Any ideas? I've got lots of contacts. So, tracking down a frame, while a challenge, should not be insurmountable.

Any of those would work. If you're looking pre- early 80's staying away from the French and Swiss will make your life easier (but I have 2 of 'em). Italians are nice. Just try to find the first one that fits and is a reasonable price for your budget. Enjoy!
