8 speed downtube shifters
Does anyone have a source for 8 speed indexed downtube shifters? I've looked all over the place and can't seem to find any, only 6,7,and 9,10 speed.

You may have better luck with e-bay. I bought an NOS set of campy 'Record' Syncro 2 downtube shifters that are indexed, and are beautiful works of art.

Keep your eye on ebay. There is a seller named mercian that occasionally lists a jewelry quality set of Suntour SL 7-8 speed indexed shifters. I have three sets and absolutely love them.

Shimano still make 8 speed down tube shifters. You might be able to find them through the QBP parts catalogue. I think that they are Exage level.
These are they

PM me your address. I've got some of the index-only Exages that work great, and I'll send them to you for free.

Well, what cazn I asy except www.excelsports.com the browser may take to a list,it's the first few names. Then look under shifters they cost $85 dollars. It's a fair price,it says 10 speed, when you click on it,it then states that it fits others,it fits all. DuraAce had stopped spec.-ing bikes with down tube shifters a decade prior to the invention of 10 speed cog-sets.E-bay may have some.I've yet to spot them.
