Help me identify my bicycle
I rescued a bike after Katrina. It is a Peugeot, 3 speed, black, plastic chain guard, generator and lights. The bike has 28" (700X35) tires. The model is VX40M54. I have rebuilt the bike and ride it around town. With the short upright handlebars and the large wheels, it can get a little touchy. I am looking for information about the bike. Thanks,

The VX45 was a city bicycle produced from 1981-1983. M54 designates a men's 54 centimeter frame. Peugeot used the term "European traditional" to describe the bicycles. The model years appear to have been identically spec'd save for color and, on the ladies' model, the style of the skirtguard. Claimed weight was 32 lbs and the frame is hi-tensile steel. The chainguard and lighting system was original equipment. Other original equipment which you do not mention included a bell, pump, kickstand and rear rack. Sorry, I don't have the original pricing.

Thanks for the help.
The bike has the rear rack and the kick stand, but not the bell and pump. It looks good parked next to my 79 Fiat Spider. Thank you for the help.
