Decal Dilemma-dressing the pig

I thought the title would get your attention...

Okay, I am making a fixie out of a Viscount frame that I bought for $2.26
I want to dress it up nicely, it is getting new paint and parts. My problem is, I have a real issue with putting decals on that misrepresent what I have, but I want to put something on it. Am I better off coming up with my own design and having them made, or does someone have a pretty cool looking package already out there?

One of my favorite sellers on Ebay has a set of Colnago CX decals including a Columbus Unobtainium decal that I love, but I cannot bring myself to putting Colnago on a Viscount. (although I guess it is no different than calling your double-wide the Taj Mahal)

So, what is your opinion about decals? Do you consider it a C-V crime to dress a pig in a tux?

I think it would be if you tried to sell the bike as something other than what it is. If it's for your own amusement it's nobody else's business.

I would go for an own design.Partially because here in Flanders we had so many excellent local builders that I figure I could make a believable design for the not yet known Balthasar marque which would not be a fake.
Or is someone planning a C&V design?

Back in the day, people put Varsity decals on Paramount frames just for giggles. Its your bike, as long as you aren't selling it, go for it.

You can get your name made here for cheap:

I ordered "Carlton" for my downtube. It's going to be gold with black outline in "rage" font.

How 'bout the Rivendell Resurrectio decal set? Graybeard put it on a project bike he showed in a thread yesterday or the day before.

Yes! I suggest some kind of Walmart brand...Ozone or Next for example.

I think somebody needs to come up with a nice "classic & vintage -or- C&V" decal set. Mr. Swantack?

Meanwhile, +1 on the Resurrectio's. They are quality, classy and inexpensive to boot.

Well, with my own twisted sense of humor, I have developed my own possible option...

And the bike model...
