Medici Pro-Strada Help

Hi I just recently purchased an awesome Medici Pro Stratda road bike. It has full dura ace everything, including pedals. It is in amazing condition and works perfectly. However, I have no idea when it was made or how much it is worth. The colors are half green, half white. They fade from one to the other in the middle of the frame. The front fork is chrome, and the rear fork is half chrome. Onle the part that runs along next to the chain in the rear is chrome. It has a black one piece stem that reads "MEDICI" on it in large white outlined block letters. I will try and get some pictures up as soon as I can. Also in case this helps, it is a 14 speed. The shifters on on the downtube, but click rather than use friction. The rear brake cable line goes through the top tube rather than along the botton or top of it. Its pretty cools and I ride it all the time. Any help on this bike would be greatly appreciated.

I'd guess late 80s just by the components, but pictures and a serial number would confirm a more exact age. Sounds like a god catch!

Medicis just do not get much respect, especially considering the brazing talent.

Post images, and we can tell more, including under the bottom bracket.

Just keep it out of beauty salons' and you will be fine.

snip snip.

My wife and I were in Simo's shop in Huntington Beach a few years back. She had a ponytail down between her shoulderblades at the time, and the way Mike was looking at her was creeping me out. Good times, eh?

I have nothing to add, except this cool ad I scanned. It's from a 1985 magazine; should have had aero brake levers by then.

Kind of looks like the old OJ Simpson residence.

Go to the CR archives https://search.bikelist.org/ and do a search for Medici. There's more than you'll ever want to know about the soap opera that this bike comapny was.

Yours sounds like a late 80's bike or early 90's bike. Value would be about that of a 2nd tier Euro bike like Ciocc, Basso, etc. of the same period.

As stated before they do not get too much respect, although I think collectors are starting to come around on the pre '83 bikes. As the Masi California and Confente connection although loose, is there. And they are pretty nice bikes that ride really well.

A mid 80's frameset sold for near $600 on eaby last week which was pretty surprising.

While the graphics are curious and original and or from a factory repaint...the lugs suggest earlier, these lugs are the Rexart financed Mario design initiated, (never approved it seems and or used by Mario), a bit too crude, the shapes are a simplification of the Mario modified Bocama lugs. Often back then (1980's) pre digital production, a tooling designer would insert a circle instead of a developed curve, easier to cut, but leaving the design trashed. These lugs are investment cast, with cut outs done after casting.

The BB shell points later, I do not know when. 1987?
