Going to sell the Pog, but how?

Sad to say but I am going to have to sell my pogliaghi. I just bought myself a new Mountain Bike and part of the deal with the woman was to sell one of my current rigs. I'm going to convert my old MB to a city ride and selling one of my cruisers won't count, so that leaves my Pig since I hardly ever ride it.

Any advice on how I should sell it? Piece by piece on here, Ebay or just post it up on Craigs?

It isn't too special, mostly Modelo stuff, but does have record hubs w/bladed spokes. All bits are in good shape.

    Al

PS: Sorry about the title, it cut off part of the bike name???

Negotiate to sell 2 cruisers & keep the Pog! But seriously, you will get the most $$ by selling all the parts separately.

Part it out. You'll most likely get more for it.

I'd be interested in buying the wheels depending on what the rims are.

I've had several inquiries on the bike, so instead of replying to each, I thought I'd just post some details of the frame on here. Once I get to actually selling stuff, I'll post it up on the classifieds. At this time, I could still use some help on pricing although since some of you may be interested in the parts, I wonder how honest of an answer I can get

I believe the frame is a 54, though I've never really bothered to measure it, just eyeball measurement when sitting next to my 56.

Wheels are 36 hole record hubs, but I have no idea what the rims are. Spokes are bladed so each hole in the hub has been filed to fit the spoke.

Drivetrain is Colnago pantographed Modolo - front derailleur is Campy, but I don't know what model. Bars and stem are Cinelli.

Here is an old thread about it from when I was trying to get it back on the road, along with more pics of the components.

General questions about an old bike

Finally, if anyone thinks I'm daft for selling this, let me know. I'd hate to get rid of something that will some day be really rare or cool.

I'm going to jump first, and say you may be daft. Here's why.

The frame is beautiful, but is a repaint. You are not likely to get top dollar for it, as nice as it is. Chrome chain stays, chrome fork, clean look, all reeks of quality, but it's a repaint. Did I mention it is a repaint?

I'm guessing the frame is a bit small for you, judging from the seat position and the long stem, so you may be better off selling it. I don't think you'll get top dollar for it, unless someone here wants it or it's turned into a fixie first (clamp on frt dérailleur makes it a high end fixie candidate, go with the flow).

Don't under estimate the quality of Modolo parts, I can't make out the pantographing, but any nice panto brings bucks.

If you are set on selling it, I think you are wise to part it out. If you enjoy riding it, you really are daft, you would be hard pressed to find a nicer built frame at twice what you'll get for it.

It's looks like my size, but I would pass on it, because it's a _______, not that there is anything wrong with that or it affects the ride, once it's painted, but not restored, the value goes down.

If you are selling, my experience tells me that Summer is not the best time to sell bike parts, it is a good time to buy them though;-)

You have too many bikes and your woman cant keep track of them all , I bet. Heres what you do. Sneak a cheap huffy or freespirit or something into the mix. Do it while shes at work or whare ever. Then make a sort of big deal, not to bit but just a little, of selling it on craigs list with a trash day date if it dosent sell. One bikes gone and every body is happy.
