Peugeot Ventoux...a little help.

I posted this earlier in the general intro thread and was reminded that it's here at C&v that I would get the most info and help. Thanks EastHill.

"The brake calipers and levers are CLB. The crank is Shimano, but I don't know what model. Both derailluers are Simplex. The rear hub is a helico matic which I'm going to ride till it dies and then replace it with ?????" This bike is so F N fast! What would be a good rear hub to replace that Helicomatic once it dies? I'm on a bit of a budget since I'm restoring my other peugeot and will be also working on two other bikes off and on.
I am wondering what year this bike was made, so if any one has an idea I"ll appreciated it. One of the previous owners place a sticker/tag on the frame identifying it as a PH11. SO....is a Ventoux a PH11? I've attached pics. Thanks in advance.

Not bad for 24 Euro.

Oh yeah, I got it for 24 Euro. From how it rides and handles, in my mind, I got a great deal.

Does it say Ventoux on the toptube?

What kind of frame tubing? There should be a decal on the seat tube.

That sticker was placed by the factory. Yes, a foreign Ventoux, is also a PH11.

The '54' refers to frame size, 54cm.

The graphics suggest circa 1983/1984. Any serial numbers?

If one were to date it based on American catalogs its an '84 or '85.

American catalogs:
1982 had a similar decal scheme on the PH12 only.
1983 had a similar decal scheme on some models with a checkerboard seatube.
1986 had no similar decal scheme. First year for models to have a name and number

British catalogs:
1982 Similar decal scheme on PH12 Centennary only
1984 Similar decal scheme on many models.

Models named and numbered in both catalogs but there is no PH11

I was too tired to type the serial number , so I just posted a pic of the BB with the serial on it. The serial number reads: Y 0740265.

I have a campy record (126mm) R Hub "on deck" for use when my Helico dies. That might be a while from now, however, as I recently oiled it and it appears to still work smoothly. I also re-packed the bearings. I am curious about the "BBT" tubing your bike apparently has. How much does your bike weigh?

The Ventoux/PH11 of that vintage and specification should weigh ~26lbs. Can you post a picture of the BBT decal?

I didn't have time to take out the scale and weigh it but here is a picture of the BBT decal. I'll weigh it once we get back. I'm taking the family to Prague for 3 days. Our 3 month old son and 2 1/2 year old daughter have been to more places at there age than me when I was 22. Lucky kids. Thanks for all the info so far guys. So what's the deal with the BBT? Also, what year is my Ventoux? I'm not too sure but I think it was made in 1990 due to the serial. Is my guess right? Well I'll be back on Tuesday. Lates!!!

Tubing is the equivelant of the U.S. DBS/HLE tubing.

Pics of crank for EastHill

Here you go East. Let me know if you still want it. Sorry for the bad pics, but I'm still working out the bugs on my phone.
