Silux - what's this?

Hi.

I found interesting bike, but I have problems with googling about Silux... sounds strange to me.

Here are the photos (on bottom of the page - click to enlarge): http://www.allegro.pl/show_item.php?item=206266367

Translation of the text:

Bike is from Austria, dated 1962.
alluminium wheels
front hub: Renak
Rear hub: Sturmey Archer (3 speed)
Front brake: Weimann
Seat: Renard
Light: Siluma

any Ideas? What is it "Silux"? Never heard about that manufacturer? Is it possible that bike is from 1962? How much is it worth?

Sorry about my english and best regards, Rami

PS: One foto here:

Love the chainguard and front cog! Some beautiful lugs and painting, too.

Can't help with the rest of the questions, though.

Welcome to Bike Forums, too!

The SA hub should have a date on it which will put you close to the year of the bicycle. I would buy it in a moment! Looks to be in very good condition. edit: The brake levers appear to be from the 60s

thanks for info

Ollo Ollo: are you talking about that date (see pic)? it's just 1962...

I believie, that I'll finalize transaction that weekend for something under $200 (don't know, is it overpriced bike or not)

best regards, rami

The name is new to me, but it's an unusual and attractive bike, and appears to my eye to be of seriously good construction. It looks rather fresh, as though it's been just sitting in a parlor for years.

The thing I like best about the 3-speed bikes is their seemingly endless variety.

Gorgeous! The paint is beautiful and the lugs are pretty sweet too.
