G,day nadel, It's a bugger when you know you've got a really good frame and don't know what name to put on it. I'm in the same position with the yellow Columbus SL frame above.
All I can say about yours is if it's Reynolds it's 6 7 or 853 because those dropouts and no chain stay bridge are mid90's and possibly up to 2000 so looking at who was still building in that period with that material is a good start. The reason I put a inside pic of the BB of my frame is so people can recognize the mitering which is often unique to certain builders.

I actually got in touch with Peter Bundy and he said it could be one of his (or his Dad's) or maybe a Gefsco or Kerry Hopkins. Im going to take it to Peter as he said he could tell if he had built it if he saw it in person...so there's some promise!
He was pretty certain it was a 531 because of the seatpost measurement being 27.2mm but i take your point with regards to the lack of a chainstay bridge. The lugs a 80's-early 90's from my mind.
Thanks for your feedback.
Cheers!

Was that the rusty Arrow?
This is erle from FOA (and xerlex from BNA) From memory FLY were Australian made and pretty ghetto too! The disc in that photo is a Superbe pro to Mavic wheel with canvass or some sort of plastic stretched over it. I've seen a FLY deep dish wheel that was pretty much the same thing but probably about 80mm deep.

So I took the frame to Peter Bundy this morning and he said it wasn't one of his or his dads but very similar to the stuff he was doing in the early 90's. He said definitely 531 and maybe built by Geoff Scott (Gefsco) or Kerry Hopkins (so I am going to chase them up if I can). In any event he said built by a skilled frame builder and made to be ridden in international competition (due to the racing number mount on the top bar). I'll post some more photos as I build it up. But please keep your insights coming!

Yep, the rusty Arrow, which is now like this: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...-far-gone-quot
So they were a wheel manufacturer? Interesting. Thanks.

Pass me the defibrillator...CLEAR!
It's all true. Well, except for the Trading Post part, which still exists online, but nobody uses it. I compiled a fairly complete history of Kypo here: https://www.bicycles.net.au/forums/v...?f=23&t=100570
Here's mine:
Dammit, I forgot to but it in the big ring.
Robert Kypriotis built Kypo frames from the early 80's through to the mid-late 90's in Latrobe Valley in Victoria. I can't remember how many he built but it was in the many 100's, all custom. Would use whatever tubing you wanted, all steel, either lugs or fillet brazed. Most were road or track, with a few tandems, tourers and MTB's around. Mine are Reynolds. Two road frames (753 and 531 with Cinelli BB shells and columbus ends) and a 531 track frame. Kypo frames pop up on ebay occassionally or in the Melbourne Trading Post.

I don't know why I still keep this too-big bike around, too lazy to sell it or what?
It looks like Hillman earned W.C. stripes at some point.
It had very minor impact dimples at the head lugs so was sourced cheaply. The geometry is a steep 74 degrees (both angles).
I did just a couple of serious-length rides on it before moving to my next project.

An Adelaide built Ace Special. Thought to be from the late 1950s.
The original decorative paint is outstanding.

late 1980s Vinco. Designed and built for the original owner, seen pictured after I had returned the bike to period components.
Original paint, and tight tolerances.

There was mentioned earlier of an Adelaide built Pursuit frame.
Here is mine.
The frame had never been painted, nor used when I acquired it.
I had the frame painted and masks were used to add the frame name. Thinner than decals.

Malvern Star made many styles.
This ladies style I regard as the most curvaceous.
I had the decorative paintwork done to match the period and the advertising material

Does it have a four digit serial on the front of the BB shell?
