700x23c classic looking new tires...?
all tires i have seen at various bike shops in toronto are blackwall.
i don't like how these look on classic bikes.
is there any that have a dark brown sidewall? i thought the specialized armadillo OR continental had it. not gumwalls? am i forced to get gumwalls and dirty them up?

Steel is real, baby!
Torelli makes some honey colored gumwall clinchers. Price ain't too bad either. The Torino Classico is what you want. Herringbone tread too! Great riding tires.

from what i have seen of the gatorskins they look like this:
its always been this kinda cross hatch pattern. its not red or brown or anything..
and do they ride as harsh as ppl say they do? i read a lot of 'feels like garden hoses' comments.

Maybe I just thought they looked like I wished my old tires looked like in "the olden days." Regards their riding harsh, they do say on them to inflate from 85psi to 120psi. Many people go for the max. I would inflate them to 100psi and had no problems with harshness.
Panaracer TourGuard Pasela are very nice. But the sidewall - gum - is easy to puncture. Many reports on that.

They're a few years old ... I haven't been able to find them lately but they seem to show up on EBay. This is my only bike that doesn't have the Panaracer Pacelas which I've had really good luck with, especially the Tour Guards.

Speaking of Panaracers, I've been trying to figure out what these would look good on:

I've researched this countless times and the only really good ones I found were...
Veloflex Pave: (only 700x22 though)
https://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=Y1077
And the Gommitalia Calypso K
EDIT: The Paselas are definitely good tires but these are a bit more high performance. Panaracer also has an Extreme Duro that's more racing oriented but they get very mixed reviews.

those white/beige tires are similar to the white/ivory panaracers Cloud 9, i have,
I tink they would look best on a silver bike, with silver wheels, with brooks grips on a moustache bar and brooks saddle.
ala, Pashley Cycles, but this is in black:

It's just too bad that none of them are 23c. Even the Triathlon 23s say they actually run a bit wider. Also too bad about those prices! Still good looking classic tires with classic looking labels.

I like the Michelin Eriliums with the skin wall and the thin red band.

Bontrager discontinued the Select K with skinwall ...what is a shame. Cheap too, what is great for if you have more than 1 or 2 bicycles. Recently were looking for decent 25mm alternatives. Only one I could come up with is the Panaracer Pasela already mentioned several times in this topic.
