The Triumph 10-speed bikes used a lot of Raleigh parts, definitely used the same threadings as the regular Nottingham Raleighs. I think the frame geometry was the same, if my memory is staying clear.
From the few we got in the shop (maybe one or two a year), I always figured that it was a Raleigh Record painted and badged differently. The derailleurs and brakes were certainly the same, can't remember about the wheels. Never really figured out why they bothered, as during the Bike Boom we were having enough trouble getting in enough Records to keep up with customer demand, much less adding yet another identical bike/different nameplate to the mix - and it sold for $5.00 less, to boot!
I can only assume that somewhere along the line a more generic tubing was used for the frame, to make up that price difference.
In general Triumphs were primarily 3-speeds, and was a Raleigh Sports using regular steel tube rather than the Raleigh specific formula stuff, cheaper seat, rims, front hub, and grips, and a slightly different (but not necessarily cheaper) crank.
New headsets are probably impossible to find, maybe a few NOS ones exist, and there's certainly a LOT of very clean, used ones out there. The Raleigh headset was very well made, and I've yet to find one that can't be reused.
While hardly valuable, as the original 10-speed its certainly unique and might be worth keeping in the original format. I've always found them rarer than, say, Masi's.
