Varsity is going back together

I started the final re assembly of the 71 Varsity I bought a while back. I got the wheelset back from my LBS friend. He did a superb job of trueing up these old steel rims they are as near perfect as you can expect from S7's I got the brakes all hooked up and adjusted. Hopefully I will have this monster back on the road this week. She looks pretty sweet all shined up even with some sad looking spots in the paint. Thats what the shiney chrome is for to take the eye away from the ugly stuff. Getting the derailleurs adjusted is going to be my biggest challenge since I have never done that before but hey between Sheldon Brown and this forum I'm sure I can figure it out. My wife said thats gonna be a pretty bike. I said HEAVY mother too. I feel pretty good about the job I did setting the bearing load on the hubs cause my Bike shop guy told me "nice job on the hubs" and he's a pro so that was gratifying. I don't know how to post pictures so I may send some to easthill and have her post them when I get it back together.

I hope your wheels are S6s as S7s were used on middleweights. Roger

Not at all! I want to be able to recognise you and your bike when I see you at the Headwaters Century in September .
