Avocet Racing Saddle R1

Avocet Racing Saddle R1
This is probably the most comfortable saddle "for me". Its the one from my Bridgestone RB1. I've tried a lot of different saddles, new and old, and nothing comes close to the comfort that the Avocet gives me. Has any Avocet R1 users found a comparable saddle? I mean comparable to newer saddles like the Specilized Toupe, Fizik Aliante's and the likes.

TIA,

-gas

I don't have the Racing model, but I really like my Avocet Touring II saddle.

I was very surprised how comfortable my Avocet Touring was... past tense as it's been replaced with a Brooks. But it's still a fine saddle, imo.

I have an Avocet Touring on my old Rock Hopper. Very comfortable. If I ever come across a Racing model, I'll definitely snap it up.

My RIII, bought in '87, sits atop a hard anodized Campy NR pin on my Rock Lobster!

I've got an R1 and an RIII. I rode my first R1 for about 20 years before binning it this winter because I discovered the rails were too bent and they were damaging my seatposts. still that was a great saddle. I like Turbos even better.

Turbo's ARE very similar to Avocet R1's, and a lot easier to find on eBay.

Update

An update regarding the R1's.
I've tried a bunch of the newer saddles, Specialized Toupe's, A bunch of San Marco's and Fizik Arione but the one that fit at home for my hiney is the Fizik Aliante. It feels exactly as the Avocet R1.
