Could I please get some help with a '57 Raleigh?

Been looking forward to cleaning this one up for a while. No idea what model it is, but am guessing it's a sports dlx.
I believe the color was called "Jet Black"...??

Most of my head badges from the '70's look like this:

But my '65 Heron badge looks different than the '70's which makes me wonder if the missing badge on this '57 bike is different yet again?

Can anybody tell or show a photo of which head badge I'm supposed to have on a '57 ?
Anybody know which model Brooks it should have ?

If anybody has a head badge to sell, please pm me (Unless you'd be interested in trading for a box of Shimano RS,FE, Positron, Suntour 7 derailleurs, and Simplex and Positron shifter handles that has been on my bench forever )

Thanks in advance for the help

I think that's a lady's Raleigh Sports. A correct restoration saddle would be a B-72 but I'd advise for comfort a B-66 which was found on the higher end Superbe.

Bigwoo, check out this page from the 1957UK catalog as it shows the headbadge on the Superbe:

I have a 1957 Wendy (kid's bike): https://tinyurl.com/ypzsq4. I can snap a closeup of the headbadge if you need it.

For saddle, I'd say a Brooks B66.

Thanks for the help guys

A B-66 it is then!

I just wasn't sure if Raleigh changed badges (or badge colors) at some point between the 50's and 60's so it looks like I would be safe purchasing just about any Raleigh head badge.

One final question: Should a '57 badge say "THE RALEIGH NOTTINGHAM ENGLAND" ?

That Bulgier site is a blast! This was my first time there...

Headbadge on a '57 should be what I believe is chromed brass, with the logo silkscreened onto the front of the badge.

The '70s badges were stamped out in brass, with the logo silkscreened over the raised areas of the pattern (or, in most cases, silkscreened off-center). The exception are the gold Raleigh Sports S-22s that were made until '73 - these used the same badges as would a '50s machine.

Take care,

-Kurt
