    recovering an old sprung saddle?

i have an old sprung saddle frame, retrieved from the trash, acid dipped to remvoe the rust and primered with marine grade metal primer.

an tips on recovering the saddle with new leather? it has two rivet holes on the nose, 3 on the back, and i gots no idea what saddle brand it might be. There is 8 springs running from tail to halfway tot he nose, and two larger suspension springs under the back. No adjust assembly whatsoever.

super comfy even without a cover on it......(pinched a few leg hairs mind you )

I know I've seen threads on the subject, perhaps one of those people who've done it will chime in?

Never mind, I discovered a large crack on the frame, under one of the springs. Oh well, this saddle frame can go onto the wall to display. A new Brooks is'nt that much...

Sounds like you were describing a 'mattress' saddle. Since you're wanting a new Brooks, how about one of these? I found it on ebay for $5!

(and no mods, I'm not selling it)
