Score! (Campy find inside)

Stopped in a ski shop today while I was waiting for a breakfast appointment and got to talking to a tech who was there with a nice looking Mercier. I mentioned that I was looking for a wheelset for my Raleigh to run single speed and he mentioned he had a wheelset in the back he could let go for cheap...He brings it out and it looks nice...I look closer..."Hey, whats that little metal ring around the hub...".

Campy Record low flange hubs with some tubular wheels (in really nice shape) with some tires. It looks alot like this wheelset here. http://cgi.ebay.com/CAMPAGNOLO-RECOR...QQcmdZViewItem

But cleaner.

He wants $50...am I stupid for even debating whether or not to do this? Is it worth picking up for $50? Im not knowledgeable at all with how tubulars work...

$50 for a Campy equipped introduction to tubulars??

Pump those puppies up to 130 lbs and you'll understand the feeling of "coasting uphill"!

Not your cup-of-tea? You'd likely get $100 for the hubs on eBay!

If they're 32 hole, and you don't want to use tubular rims, let me know.

Call your boss tomorrow morning and tell him you're having automobile battery problems and will arrive as soon as possible. Visit this store when it opens, purchase wheels, and continue your drive to work.

Well, normally I would not call anyone stupid. But yes, don't bother debating, just grab them. If you don't want them, someone here will take them off your hands .
