Sekine SHS270 acquisition...

I bought this Sekine SHS270 today for $10.

Pretty cool with the dynamo lighting, fenders and saddle bag. The best part about it is that the seller still had the original purchase receipt!
It came from Victoria Sporting Goods (no longer exists) and was $224.95 before tax. Model number is stated as SHS270 and the serial number is 1005965. This is good for T-Mar's Sekine database, no?
Anyway, of course it fits into the usual "too small for me, too big for my girlfriend" category, so I think I will just restore it and keep it as a visitor's bike...or maybe sell it...

If it weren't for the fact that it would get shot down, a bicycle brand data base would be nice...

Nishiki
Sekine
Centurion
Fuji
Etc.

That would be a useful subforum.

Yes, no doubt, it's an SHS. But you forgot the most important piece of information - the date on the sales slip.

Sorry folks. How stupid of me. I should know better by now! Okay, the date of sale was March 5, 1976.

Leigh30, thanks, I 'll add it to the DB.

Skyrider - "LIke that guy on CSI". Am I really that obnoxious? I'll try to tone things down.

East Hill -"eh". Either you've been following too many Canadian bicycle threads or you've been nipping north of the border for some real beer.

I was in Canada not all that long ago, and saying 'eh' is addictive ! I think it's a bit like being in the south and saying 'y'all'.

Yes, or at least they should be, for a 1976 SHS. Nice derailleur. Very similar to the Crane and first generation Dura-Ace.
