Dura Ace.....era?
Help me on out. I recently...acquired an old set of road brakes.
Can anybody tell me anything about them, especially from what era/generation they are and what they might be worth?
I got them, for some unknown reason, off a beat up old norco 10-speed locked up since forever in my neighbour's backyard. The rest of the components on the bike were crap, though....strange.
Have a look, I KNOW they need cleaning...I will, I will...

I agree with bikerosity57. The VeloBase.com entry for these brakes state they are from 1974. Which I believe was the first year for Dura-Ace. https://velobase.com/ViewSingleCompon...01713&Enum=117

They are first generation Dura-Ace sidepull calipers, my bet from 1975, as the black finish was not widely around prior, to the OEM's yes, but not the common folk.

first generation dura ace had a rear derailleur marked "Crane". If you have one of those don't chuck it...it is suprisingly valuable.

1973 Dura Ace catalog:

My brakes are first generation. I bought them new for my PX10. They're on my Gitane TdF now. The front was too long until I switched to 700c. They did not originally have the black plastic on the quick releases. I Plasti-Dipped them because they were pitted. The tire guides were chrome, also.
