ID this as a Mondonico?
Here's the pics I got from the seller for his mid-80's Mondonico. It's been repainted, though, and I don't have the skills to verify that it is* a Mondonico. Anyone have any comments? He's selling it for $500 or best offer.

ask for better pics, I can't see any of the crucial details needed to ID it as anything, let alone a Mondo...but that one detail I DO see (the "lip" left on the bottom edge of the lower head lug) would make me question it. But, looks like a nice chrome fork with something engraved on the crown...

I looks like a Mondonico to me, especially when i look at the seat cluster. There should be those typical Mondonico engravings a the seat cluster, forkhead and on top of the down tube lug. Check out this thread from a german forum and you will find some nice pics of a Mondonico of that era:

Oh, you guys. I GOT it. I had a dozen reasons why I wouldn't get it, but it was just too cool.
It's clearly a Mondonico...there are stamps on every part of the bike. It was painted by Chris Kvale. It has a campy seatpost and stem with a vintage Rolls saddle and new hand built wheels with less than 200 miles on them. They are beautiful wheels.
It's got a pretty aggressive stance on it. The seller's brother used to race with it (The seller has another one, and was selling this one because he was having a baby and "it was time") so you'll all be disappointed I'll swap out the cool stem with something more practical. The cogs are totally unusable to me, too, set up for racing.
But, surprisingly, the frame fits!
What sold me was the ride. What a sweet, lush ride this bike has. It is really stunning. The minute I got on the bike I knew I would buy it. I can sell my Klein Stage Comp, which was serving as my road bike. The aluminum just beat me up, but the triple was nice. But I can get 300-400 for it, and that will pretty much pay for this bike, which is a zillion times more pleasant to ride.
Don't like the Rolls saddle at all, because it's mounded up on the nose. But it's very cool.
Pics tomorrow when the sun comes out!

Nothing wrong with swapping in a triple crank and Touring freewheel/cassette. Then find a saddle & stem that suit you. The ride and fit will be even sweeter! Don

I put a Brooks on it the minute I got home and set it up as close as I could. Then it rained and I could only ride it a block!
A triple would be great if I could keep it a 7 speed so I wouldn't have to cold set the frame.

Here's photos! I know, my bars are crooked! I raised them and have to center them before I ride today. What's the trick? I used a weight on a string, but keeps moving as I tighten it.

Try aligning them with one eye closed. Otherwise, if they are straight enough that you can't easily tell, they're straight enough.

I almost did that, but thought it would backfire on me! Thanks!
BTW, the bars tilted like that is only temporary so I can ride it. It has a really long top tube and a hard-core stance and I wanted to put it through its paces.
