Canadian Survivor

Saw this pop up on marketplace for $50 Canadian and had it in my truck before i even knew the maker. I think it came out of the Canadian Raleigh factory.Carlton Corsair, Serial number W 80416.
It is not high end,Basic Ishiwata Cro Mo. Shimano Light action RD, Brakes? What is very nice is the colour, its celeste-ial.

Nice find and at a darn good price. Isn't this fun!

Thought that you might like to see the Carlton Corsair that came my way this summer for fifty dollars less that the OP paid...

Congratulations on this outstanding find!

Appears the assembler got the Modolo brake levers on the wrong way round...either that or the hoods replacer got the hoods on backward.

Noice!

It's not every day you see a Canadian-brazed, Ishiwata-tubed Carlton Corsair.

Given the Carlton branding and country of origin label, it be logical to assume it is Raleigh Canada manufacture but that's not the correct serial number format. This one is Guvin (Miele) manufacture, circa 1988. Frame features are typical of their bottom of the line models from this period and Guvin offered that same shade of 'celeste'.
