Campy Record Crankset
I'm looking at a Campagnolo Record double crankset. No date code that I can find, but the seller claims it's from the 60's. It has a 151 BCD. Anyone have any idea of the vintage (or at least the vintage range)? Any guesses as to value? Thanks.

151 doubles should be 1967 or earlier. It was the desire of the pro peloton to use a 41 or 42 inner, rather than the half-step setup, that lead to the adoption of the 144 bcd that we know.
This happened about the time that Merckx hit the scene.
151 persisted on the track cranks into the 70s, and Sugino and Shimano persisted with track 151 into the 80s!
Hope this helps

If its the first one from 1958 with the dust covers behind the pedals its worth a lot. 44 is the smallest ring available for the 151s, and any rings are hard to find these days.

As stated, vintage range is 1958 to 1967, with the one you are looking at likely being from roughly 1960-67, since the first couple of generations or so are super rare. These go for big coin in good condition. If they're decent and usable, a good deal would be maybe $150 or so. They often go for more you-know-where.

Raised pedal lip on outside of crank arm was eliminated in 1962, per Campagnolo Timeline. Two sets in the 1958-62 vintage range failed to draw a single bid recently. Sellers wanted $350-400 for opening bids as I recall.

if you didn't want a 151bcd set for a specific bike, it'd probably be best to just leave them with the current seller or treat them as a small investment..
it's not too easy to find 3/32" rings in this size and, as mentioned, the inner ring won't go be too small...
144bcd cranksets, on the other hand, are plentiful and pretty easy to find at reasonable prices, and the rings are still manufactured
