Giant RS920 year ID

I just picked up a Giant RS920 for cheap. Doubt it's been ridden more than 50 miles. Did alot of searching and didn't come up with what year it is, the owner didn't know. There is one just like it on ebay except it is pink/white and listed as an '88. But the components are the same. Sakae crank, Suntour Accushift 2000, ect. The lugged frame has a "1207 Hi-Ten Tensile Steel" sticker. The saddle in the pic I put on to replace the Lazyboy Sofa gel saddle that was on it. Any Giant experts?

Giant didn't start marketing bicycles under their own name in the US until 1988. hishs model does not appear in their 1990 or 1991 US product lines. So it would appear to be 1988 or 1989, or a foreign model.

Regardless, it is a entry level model as indicated by the hi-tensile frame, Accushift 2000, and features such as stem shifters, clincher wheelset and exposed brake nuts

I picked up a neglected RS920 from a LBS for $20. i'm turning it into a fixie. hope it works well. (first post BTW) if not i'll just save a few more dollars in this summer and get a surly or custom steel frame.
