1987 Schwinn Super Sport Components
Does anyone have a catalogue or spec sheet for a 87 Schwinn Super Sport? I want to rebuild the frame from its current fixed gear build to a geared training bike so I am trying to get some original specs.
If anyone knows if it was a 7 or 8 speed off hand that would be amazingly helpful-- thanks yall

I have this exact bike and it's all original. If you want me to go take a look at anything for you let me know. It's got Shimano 600 everything with Weinmann rims.

It has a 6 gear cassette and a double up front.

Man, I really didn't realize just how nice these framesets were. My plan is to do a little restomod job on it. I just found a cheap set of dura ace cranks and think I'm going to try and squeeze a 8 sp cassette on new wheels I am going to build. I know that the build won't be completely vintage but its going to be my primary trainer/racing bike so a little new will just compliment the old
thanks for the help guys

I'm a little biased, since I own an 85 model SS. It came with all 600, but it now sports a refitting with the entire 9 speed group and rims off of an 05 Scott Speedster. It really is a sweet handling and riding bike.
I think it actually gained a little weight with the swap, but not enough to feel sluggish. The mid to late 80's
Schwinns are some of my favorite bikes ever made. Nicely made with quality tubing, and very good components in their respective price ranges.,,,,,BD
