Cilo Challenger
This frame should of cost me 35 euros, instead I stacked fire wood for 15 minutes. I won it on ebay but the guy said he would give it to me if I helped him stack his firewood on the side of his house. I could not decline his offer. Well here is my new CILO. Have you guys seen a "Challenger" model before? What year do you guys think it is? He didn't know since it was his brother's. What quality tubing is it made from? Would a Golden Arrow group look good on it. The only thing that's keeping from doing the swap is whether this frame is too new for the GA; if that makes sense. Also, the GA shifter are clamp on, so how would I fix this?

Well, Gara didn't come out until at least 1989, so you're probably looking at an early 1990s model. Gara was a plain gauge CrMo equivalent to Aelle. Of course, the main frame may be something better, but it appears to be a mid-range frame at best.
From a chronological stanpoint, it is too modern for Golden arrow 105. You are into brifter timeframes. Still, it would look nice with Golden Arrow, even if not period correct.

The 105 levers, should mount directly onto the shifter braze-ons. Some of the very early Shimano shifters were designed for proprietary shifter bosses, but I believe that by the time 105 came along, they used the defacto standard introduced by Campagnolo. Even if they use the early style, a switch of the inside washer will allow them to work. The early style had an inside washer that had two flat sides to the hole (similar to the outside friction plate. Replacing this with a comparably sized washer, but with a round hole of the correct diameter, will allow it work.
