Nishiki centurian

I finally got a look at the Nishikia Centurian a co worker had and its really cherry, looks like its been ridden a dozen times I couldn't find a single scratch on it anywhere. He had thought it had some surface rust on it but come to find out it was cigarette smoke film. Seems his dad smoked in the garage where it hung for 25 years or so. It came from Denver so humidity was not an issue so it never rusted on any of the steel parts and the chrome parts of the frame are virtually new. He has a real sentimental attachment to it and I know he want way more than I'm willing to pay so I made him a standing offer of 175.00 if he decides to sell it. What do ya think

I think if it's a tiny bike you should send me a PM!

How about some photos so we can give you our collective opinion?

Hey, are you going to the Kitsap Color Classic?

I don't have any photos but there was one in another thread a while back and it looks just like that one only in near pristine condition. I think some formula 409 and a good wash job to get the rest of the smoke film off of it and this thing would look like it just came out of the shop. I'm hoping he decides to sell it to me and not give it to his 12 year old kid that will probably get it stolen or scratched up in a week jumping it off the sidewalk or curb at the local skate park. It just barely fits me with a 29 inch inseam and he says its the smallest frame they made. I measured it and its about a 53cm and it has 27 inch wheels. I'd really like to buy this bike but I think he feels like he can get 4 or 5 hundred for it and I don't want it that bad. Not gonna do the Kitsap thing I have to get started building some window frames this weekend for some storm windows I'm making and will try to get some assembly done on the Continental.

That sounds rather large for the smallest frame they made, but at any rate it won't fit me!

I used to buy stuff back in the 70's that was covered with that film. I hardly ever see it anymore, which is a good thing!

That is disgusting! YUCK!

$175 is a very fair offer. After taking into account that you will take good care of the bike, I think he should jump at that offer. Good luck, and I hope you get that bike cause we all know how much you want it.

Oh yeah I want it for sure but not unless I can get it for my price. If I do get it I will be sure to post pictures ASAP.
